Atomaze for iPhone and iPad

Chemistry you can play with.

Build atoms, balance equations, heat a gas and watch the piston rise. 58 hands-on labs take you from what matter is to Gibbs free energy.

18 topics free forever. No account, no ads.

Atomaze Today screen: daily goal ring, 14-day streak and the daily challenge.
Atomaze Atomic Structure lab: build a carbon atom from protons, neutrons and electrons.

A periodic table of chemistry.

Every tile is a topic with its own lab, lesson and quiz. Twelve units run left to right, from what matter is made of to the molecules of life. Pick a level to see where you'd start.

Inside the app.

Learn is the course, Explore is the reference shelf, Today keeps you coming back. Here is what a session looks like.

Labs you run with your fingers.

Each of the 58 topics opens on a lab bench. Build an atom particle by particle, balance an equation by changing its coefficients, heat a gas or titrate until the indicator flips. Short challenges check that it clicked.

The Atomic Structure lab: a carbon atom with its Bohr model, mass number and charge.

Real models, honest numbers.

The science is computed, not canned. Squeeze a gas and the pressure follows Boyle's law on a live chart, with the ideal curve dashed beside it. Change one variable and watch the others answer.

The Gas Laws lab: a piston over moving particles with live pressure, volume and temperature readouts.

Lessons and quizzes that explain why.

After the lab, a short lesson puts words to what you saw, with key terms you can come back to. Every quiz answer comes with an explanation, right or wrong. Pass the quiz and the topic is yours.

A lesson on the gas laws with numbered sections.

All 118 elements, live.

Color the periodic table by family, state, block or electronegativity. Tap any element for its Bohr model, electron configuration and data from PubChem, then reach for the molar mass, equation balancer, gas law solver and pH calculator tools.

The interactive periodic table colored by element family.

Molecule Studio.

Spin 40 molecules in 3D, from water and ammonia to caffeine and aspirin. Switch between ball-and-stick and space-filling, and see why water's bent shape makes it polar.

Molecule Studio showing a water molecule in 3D with its molar mass.

Progress you can see.

Your level is an element that changes as you earn XP. Charts show your last two weeks, unit by unit progress and the badges you've earned so far.

The profile: level Aluminum, a 14-day streak and an XP chart for the last two weeks.

Build an atom.

Add a proton and the element changes. Add neutrons for a new isotope, add or remove electrons to make an ion. This is a small slice of the first lab in Inside the Atom, running in your browser.

In the app, each of the 118 elements has its own page with a live Bohr model, its electron configuration and data from PubChem.

Today: a 45 of 50 XP daily goal ring, a 14-day streak with a freeze ready, and the daily challenge.
The badge cabinet grouped into first steps, learning and mastery.

A little chemistry, every day.

Pick a pace when you start: 5 to 20 minutes a day. Today shows your goal, your streak, a daily challenge and an element of the day.

Daily goal

Choose 20, 30, 50 or 80 XP a day. Labs, lessons, quizzes and the daily challenge all fill the ring.

Streaks with freezes

Every 7 days in a row earns a streak freeze, and you can hold two. Miss a day and a freeze keeps the streak alive.

Levels named after elements

Level 1 is Hydrogen, level 26 is Iron, level 118 is Oganesson. Early levels come fast; the last ones mean real mastery.

44 badges

Six families: first steps, learning, mastery, consistency, explorer and unit masters. Each unlock gets its own celebration.

Optional study reminders are scheduled on your device. No account, nothing to sign up for.

Questions, answered.

Is Atomaze free?

Yes, Atomaze is free to download. Every Foundations topic (18 labs with their lessons and quizzes), the periodic table, the molar mass tool, the glossary and the daily challenge are free, with no time limit. Atomaze Pro unlocks the other 40 topics, every tool and the full Molecule Studio.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later. On iPad the tabs become a sidebar and the labs get more room.

Who is it for?

Students from middle school through high school, AP, IB and introductory college chemistry, and anyone curious. Topics are tagged Foundations (middle school), Core (high school) and Advanced (AP, IB and college).

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

No account, no sign-up. All lessons, labs and data are in the app, so it works offline. You only need a connection to buy or restore Pro.

How does the free trial work?

The yearly plan includes a 1-week free trial for new subscribers. If you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends you pay nothing; otherwise it renews as a yearly subscription at $39.99.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Atomaze. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next charge.

Is the chemistry accurate?

Content is written to textbook standards at each level, numbers in the labs come from tested models, and element data comes from PubChem. If you spot a mistake, tell us and we'll fix it.

Is it safe for younger students?

There are no ads, no tracking, no chat and no account. Learning progress stays on the device. See the privacy policy for details.
